Biography
Nancy Volkman has been researching her family’s genealogy for over 25 years. After Nancy’s retirement, she joined the Genealogy Club and
actively began her research for her ancestors, who were migrating as early as the 1640s from Great Britian on her maternal side and 1800 on her paternal side. Nancy has scanned thousands of family pictures, some dating back into the 1800s. She was a 39-year employee in 3M IT and Supply Chain and is currently the President of the Genealogy Club.
Abstract
Do you have family stories that you don’t know are real or just a myth? In this case study, Nancy will describe the years of research she has spent to identify how a woman born in 1842 fits into her family and if that woman’s adventures during the gold rush in the late 1890s were true.
